 Pedro studied geology for his undergraduate and masters at the University of Cambridge, UK, before moving to Canada to do a PhD with Graham Pearson at the University of Alberta, studying the Proterozoic Winnipegosis komatiites. He then completed a short post-doc at the University of Alberta before moving to Denmark in 2019 to work as a post-doc on Archaean ultramafic intrusions from West Greenland with Kristoffer Szilas. After 3 years as a post-doc, he moved into an assistant professor role, where he teaches igneous petrology and geochemistry. Most recently, he was awarded an EU-funded ERC starting grant for the ChroMCrust project, which seeks to use detrital chromite to understand the growth of mafic continental crust in the early Earth.
