Dr Nathan Reid is an exploration geochemist at The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), where he has spent the last 18 years working on hydrogeochemistry and biogeochemistry projects related to mineral. He leads research in hydrogeochemistry, clay-hosted rare earth elements (REE) and promotes the collection and integration of groundwater chemical data into the Continental Scale Hydrogeochemistry initiative.
He has developed new scientific directions using groundwater, vegetation, and soils as tools for gold, nickel-cobalt, lead-zinc, uranium, lithium, REE, and copper exploration and in identifying potential environmental hazards. He also designs and implements technology and tools to make his science accessible.
