Lucy Potter is a seasoned mining executive with deep expertise in exploration, mineral resource estimation, and technical risk management. As General Manager, Technical at Rio Tinto, she leads risk oversight across a diverse global asset portfolio. A geologist with over 25 years of international experience, Lucy is known for aligning technical systems with business strategy to deliver high-impact programs. She co-won the 2025 AusIMM Parker Challenge for innovation in resource estimation and founded Etana Mining Mentors, a consultancy focused on building capability in emerging mining companies. Lucy serves on the CIM Mineral Resources & Reserves Committee and the Ideon Council of Experts. She holds degrees from McGill, Laurentian, and Western Universities, along with a CDI.D designation in corporate directorship.
