Mikayla Sambrooks graduated from the University of Melbourne at the beginning of 2020 with a Masters' degree in geophysics, winning the D.E. Thomas medal for the best master's thesis with a substantial field mapping component including geophysical techniques, awarded by the Geological Society of Australia. She then went on to do exploration field work for Terrasearch, including walking ground mag and facilitating drilling programs in far north Queensland.
Moving to Perth at the start of 2021 she commenced the exploration geology grad program with Newcrest Mining, working FIFO to help develop the world-class gold exploration project at Havieron, whilst also working on publishing her research. She started her first official role as a geophysicist toward the end of 2022 and has worked in greenfields and brownfields exploration geophysics for Newmont until just recently. Two weeks into her new role at Fleet Space Technologies, introducing Mikayla!
